Savino Muraglia conclude: “Se la Xylella fastidiosa, che sta facendo strage di ulivi nel Salento proviene dal Costa Rica, il punteruolo rosso che ha letteralmente falcidiato le palme secolari pugliesi è originario dell’Asia sudorientale Inoltre, la Puglia convive da anni con una virosi, l’alter ego della Xylella fastidiosa con le dovute differenze – di cui si parla poco, nonostante sia altrettanto virulenta. La ‘Tristeza’ degli agrumi, causata dal Citrus Tristeza Virus (CTV) proveniente dall’Asia Minore, appartenente al gruppo dei Closterovirusche, per cui nostri agricoltori sono costretti ad esportare agrumi con foglia sui mercati comunitari solo se accompagnati da passaporto delle piante, poiché il virus si trasmette attraverso la parte vegetale e non attraverso i frutti.
